Sweet Chili Pineapple Sauce combines the sweetness of pineapple with the heat of chili peppers, creating a perfect condiment for grilling or dipping. It's easy to make and can be adjusted to suit your spice preferences....




Ingredients for Pineapple Sweet Chili Sauce

Pineapple - I like to use fresh pineapples in the recipe. First core the pineapple, dice them, and add it to the blender to make fresh pineapple juice. I have detailed the method in a separate post for making homemade pineapple juice. If you like the texture a bit chunky, feel free to add some pineapple chunks too.

Garlic - Fresh minced garlic or diced garlic works best. You really don't want to make a chutney out of them.

Chilli - I prefer fresh Birds Eye Chilies in the recipe.. It's got the perfect heat, which we love in the chili sauce. However, you can substitute it for chili flakes or sambal olek.

Soy Sauce - Add a little bit of Soy Sauce for the perfect Asian flavor in the sauce. Don't add too much as it can alter the color of the sauce.

Apple Cider Vinegar or Rice Wine Vinegar - I like to use either of them for making pineapple dipping sauces.

Granulated sugar or any other white sugar will work. I have not tried it with cane sugar or sugar alternatives like honey or maple syrup.

Salt to taste

Cornflour & Water to make a slurry. Cornflour slurry works as a thickening agent to the dipping sauce.

Produce

• 2 Garlic cloves

• 1 tbsp Ginger, fresh

• 1 cup Pineapple, fresh

• 1 tsp Red chili flakes

Condiments

• 1/4 cup Honey

• 2 tbsp Soy sauce

Baking & Spices

• 2 tsp Cornstarch

• 1 Salt

Oils & Vinegars

• 1/4 cup White vinegar

Liquids

• 5/8 cup Water







To make Pineapple Sweet Chilli Sauce, add all the ingredients other than cornflour slurry to a deep pan.

Bring the sauce to a boil and allow it to simmer for 5 minutes.




Add the cornflour slurry and give it a stir. Cook further for another 3 minutes. Turn off the flame and allow the sauce to cool down. Serve immediately or transfer to glass jars for later use.
